Wood working review of the Jessem Mast-R-Fence

Jessem Mast-R-Fence
Jessem Mast-R-Fence

The folks at Jessem continue to raise the bar when it comes to router accessories. The Jessem Mast-R-Fence is mounted onto a dual track on the in feed and out feed sides of the table. This double track system uses adjustable scales that allow for a zero reference mark. This makes setting up for repeatable cuts much easier since you can mark the position of the fence before you move it to make another cut.

The Mast-R-Fence is constructed from 6061 grade aluminum which is very strong and stable. The aluminum finishes to a smooth, precise finish allowing wood to glide smoothly through the cut. The Mast-R-Fence fits all router tables from 24" to 36" and also has a tee track to attach a hold-down device.

Other features of the Mast-R-Fence include:

  • 2-1/4"ø vacuum hose fitting
  • Shims for offsetting out feed fence - jointing operation
  • Optional attachments like hold-down devices and the Jessem Mite-R-Slide

All these features add up to a very good router fence system. It performs great in normal router operation but it is when it comes to a tricky cut that you really appreciate the Master-R-Fence. By using a hold-down device you can easily machine the bevel on raised panels. Use the optional Mite-R-Slide and you can cut precise stile and rails.

Anyone who uses a router table on a regular basis and is looking for a well made, precisely machined tool will benefit from the Mast-R-Fence. There are other router fences out there that will do the job but if you are looking for exceptionally tight joinery the Mast-R-Fence will deliver.

Jessem stocks a complete line of router products and accessories that are all compatible with the Mast-R-Fence.

For the money the Jessem Mast-R-Fence is the best router fence system there is.
